I have gone back and forth hundreds of times trying to decide whether to stay or go. For the past 6 months I have been working remotely on this exciting consulting project for two amazing women. After creating a self-sufficient non-profit organization supporting local weavers, the founder had a vision to integrate the social impact element of the business with the jewelry line.

I was excited at their passion and dived into helping to create the fashion business strategy and rebranding for the merger of the social and business elements to a social enterprise. We blasted ahead with an luxury photoshoot with a large elephant and bengal cat. But as time passed an unease took over and I couldn’t juggle effectively my own business and the work it took developing out innovative initiatives for the brand.

After taking time away during the holidays I sensed that it was time again to commit to my dream and make the tough choice to leave something I love. There is a saying ‘if you don’t build your dream someone will pay you to build theirs‘. Despite having a common vision I am but one person and I choose again to be faithful to this dream. We can only help others by helping ourselves first. I can’t wait to see the seeds we have planted blossom together into lovely fruitful trees. It is never the end only new beginnings.
